AVILA BEACH, CA - Harbor Manager Andrea Lueker has announced the hiring of Christopher Munson as the District’s new Facilities Manager. Following a highly competitive recruitment, extensive interview process, and contract approval by the Board of Harbor Commissioners at their meeting of May 22, 2018, Chris began in his new capacity as Facilities Manager on May 23, 2018.
Mr. Munson has worked for the Harbor District as the Planner/Analyst since 2013. During his time in that position, he has been involved with a myriad of project planning and management; grant writing and implementation of cost-saving measures; permitting various projects and operations through the Army Corps of Engineers, Coastal Commission, Regional Water Quality Control Board and others; preparation of plans and graphic documents and served as the safety administrator for the District. Prior to that, he worked for URS (now AECOM) as an Environmental Planner/GIS Analyst where he was involved with multiple levels of research and production for projects dealing with Environmental Impact Report preparation and CEQA compliance; urban planning and land use.
Chris is a Cal Poly graduate and has lived in the county for the past 20 years. He currently lives in Templeton with his wife and three kids.
Chris is passionate about serving the public as the Harbor District’s next Facilities Manager. He has been an excellent asset to the District as the Planner/Analyst and we are very pleased about him stepping into the role of a manager.
